Victanis Advisory Services has been acting as corporate advisor throughout the preparation and successful sales process of Quadrant Approved Inspectors (QAI), a leading provider of building control services for commercial and residential projects. QAI has been acquired by Socotec Group.
Quadrant is a market leading ‘Approved Inspector’ (AI), a Building Control Body that is approved, monitored and regulated by CICAIR and is qualified to undertake building control work on all types of structures. Quadrant is one of the 5 largest private providers of Building Control in England and Wales and has been the fastest growing provider in the market since 2018. Quadrant has approved over 50,000 Building Regulation applications within England and Wales since 2007 and employs permanently 140 surveyors and administrators. The company operates nationally through 16 local offices and has successfully developed its own bespoke software to monitor precisely each step of the inspection process.
The acquisition of QAI and its highly complementary technical expertise enables Socotec to strengthen its portfolio of services available to the construction and property markets in the UK and to build on Socotec’s long heritage in the building control industry, with its roots as France’s first building inspection body set up in 1953.
Victanis, one of the few specialist advisory firms in the area of TIC (Testing, Inspection, and Certification) in Europe helped prepare QAI for sale and, using an established network of sector contacts within the TIC and construction services market in the UK and EU, introduced QAI to a number of interested parties. Once Socotec had successfully secured exclusivity, Victanis managed the entire sales process, advising QAI’s management and shareholders and bringing the sales process to a highly satisfactory conclusion.
